Moonrise Mystic is the journey of a novelist connecting her love of story with her passion for the mystical into one moving, breathing prayer. It’s for those who love to read fantasy stories and intuitive writings that explore expanding through the initiations of life, death and rebirth, and transmuting shadow to light. Thank you for being here!
We’re in a time collectively right now where shining your light and speaking from your sacred voice is one of the most important thing you can cultivate. To do that, you have to be willing to look at all of it—the light and the dark—so you can create deep self-love and self-compassion for all the parts of you.
Rewriting your life as a fictional story can bring deep healing to your life and begin the journey towards self-mastery.Â
We all carry emotional, and sometimes physical, wounding from the past—whether in this life or others. These unresolved feelings can stagnate your energy, making it hard to speak from your sacred voice and truly embody your divine nature. You can find yourself stuck in repetitive thought patterns, setting up internal blockages instead of embracing the eternal ever-present.
Living in this stagnation of blocked emotions can be incredibly draining. It affects your relationships, your mental health, and your overall well-being. The constant replay of unpleasant, or even scary, memories can leave you feeling powerless and trapped.
But there are several paths to break free from this cycle.
One answer lies in emotional and imaginative storytelling. By rewriting your life through a fictional lens, you can gain a new perspective on your experiences. Imagine yourself as the main character in your story, facing challenges, overcoming obstacles, and growing stronger with each page. This story doesn’t have to be long—certainly not a full book—unless you want it to be.Â
Keep it simple. Write a couple of pages for the beginning, middle, and end of your story.Â
Start by choosing a significant pivotal moment from your past. As you write, allow yourself to feel the emotions associated with this time of your life. Then, begin to reframe the story, imagining how the main character—you—overcomes these challenges and emerges stronger. If it helps, you can mirror your favorite story and use its basic structure and character journey.Â
IMPORTANT: This isn’t about being an accomplished, professional writer. It’s about letting your soul lead your hand through the emotional story you need to write to heal this part of your life. Have fun with the characters and setting, but keep the focus on the emotions of the story.Â
To support this transformative journey, create a sacred space where you can write without distractions. Fill this space with objects that inspire you and bring a sense of safety and comfort. This could be candles, crystals, or anything that makes you feel grounded and connected.
In this sacred space, allow your imagination to flow. Let your soul guide your writing, and don’t be afraid to explore the depths of your feelings. This process is about more than just writing—it’s about healing, discovering, and reclaiming your soul power.
Here’s an example from my own life to get you started:
By transforming your experiences into a fictional story, you not only gain a new perspective but also create a powerful tool for healing and reconnecting to your divine nature. Your story becomes a testament to your strength and resilience, a beacon of hope and inspiration for your future.

Alysia, I love the idea of using storytelling to release stagnant energy! By changing the story, we are changing the energy... and humans have been storytellers long before we learned to read and write, so this is tapping into a really deep part of ourselves.
